Just a quick burst of All The News!
First, for Bay Area folks, we will be at the Love/Make wedding expo, hosted by The Bold Italic this weekend. (Pre-sale tickets here for $20, or buy at the door!) It’s super fun, and totally your kind of party—flower crowns, TONS of awesome vendors, and things like cake and booze, food trucks, and cool people. Plus, it is literally the only time all year where you can meet us in person and get wedding advice. Alyssa of Rose Gold Events (if you need a Bay Area planner, hire this girl) and I will be sitting in our booth all day giving advice. I tend to cover more emotional questions, Alyssa will answer any logistical question, and we will totally be your permission givers to buy that awesome multi-colored wedding dress you’ve been eyeing.
Last year we wondered if anyone would come talk to us, and kind of planned on just sit in our cute booth all day eating free cake. Ha! I got my free cake before the doors opened and didn’t take a bite for hours. It turns out everyone needs wedding advice. Alyssa and I both talked for three full hours without a break, at which point we sort of limped away for a break because we were losing our voices. (Best part: half the people who talked to me apparently had ZERO idea who I was, and didn’t ask until they’d already spilled their guts. We were offering up free advice and they were gonna take it, no questions asked. Because… that’s how wedding planning is.)
In other news, APW Book Club is back next Wednesday with a belated discussion of Bad Feminist. So grab your book this weekend flip through it, and remember what you wanted to discuss.
And! And! We’re hiring! For a nearly full-time job! (Secret tip: we’re not really looking at applications till early next week, so you have the weekend to make yours awesome.)
