Other cool stuff we should know about:
Nearly every detail was a gift of labor and talent from our dear friends and family. From bridal hair and makeup to the program design, cupcakes, flower arrangements, bouquets, and table decor (runners, pinwheels, calligraphy) it was a true group effort. Nate and I paid for our wedding ourselves, which was only possible because our community is so supportive and gave so much of themselves. After our three-minute secular ceremony, everyone devoured breakfast tacos and beer, enjoyed the gorgeous Texas spring morning, and danced like nobody’s business.
Favorite thing about the wedding:
Ariel: When I arrived to help set up in the morning, many of our closest friends were already at the venue looking gorgeous and putting all of the plans into action. I felt so overwhelmed with love, I started crying and didn’t stop for essentially the entire day.
Nate: I liked that everybody from every generation was dancing. And that everyone was standing for the ceremony. And the geeky pictures we got to take. (Okay, that’s three. Sorry.)
