A while back I got to celebrate the birthday of APWâs former brand manager Najva with her family and friends here in New York. At one point the conversation turned to living in New York, and one half of the refugee couple she helped to sponsor said this of living here: âI have never once felt unwelcome.â And itâs that unabashed inclusivity and fierce community (buried beneath the gruffness) that makes people come here, and what keeps them staying here.
